Ingredients
- 1 cup Mixed berries
- 1/2 cup Diced apple
- 1/2 cup Diced banana
- 1 tsp Grated orange zest
- 2 tbsp Orange juice
- 1 tsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Chia seeds
- 1/4 cup Coconut flakes
Method
- In a large bowl, combine the mixed berries, diced apple, and diced banana, stirring until well combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the grated orange zest, orange juice, and honey, until smooth and well combined, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Pour the orange mixture over the fruit mixture and stir until the fruit is evenly coated, about 1-2 minutes, until the fruit is well combined with the orange mixture.
- Sprinkle the chia seeds and coconut flakes over the top of the fruit mixture, stirring until well combined and the chia seeds are evenly distributed, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, until the flavors have melded together and the chia seeds have absorbed some of the liquid, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Serve the Austrian Fruit Salad chilled, straight from the refrigerator, garnished with additional grated orange zest and coconut flakes if desired, about 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving.
