Ingredients
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Water
- 1 large Egg
- 1 cup Cabbage
- 1/2 cup Green onions
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 2 tbsp Okonomiyaki sauce
Method
- In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1 cup of water until smooth, then add 1 large egg and whisk until fully incorporated.
- Add 1 cup of shredded cabbage and 1/2 cup of thinly sliced green onions to the bowl and stir until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and brush it with 1 tsp of sesame oil, then pour the okonomiyaki batter into the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and the edges start to set.
- Loosen the okonomiyaki with a spatula and flip it over, then cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the other side is also golden brown and the pancake is cooked through.
- Brush the okonomiyaki with 2 tbsp of okonomiyaki sauce and cook for an additional minute, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
- Serve the okonomiyaki hot, garnished with additional green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and enjoy as a delicious and satisfying breakfast dish.
