Ingredients
- 1 liter Cold filtered water
- 1 (for soda siphon) Food-grade CO2 cartridge
- tiny amount for slight tang Optional: pinch of baking soda or citric acid
Method
- Chill 1-liter soda siphon bottle and water in fridge overnight (cold water holds carbonation better).
- Fill chilled siphon bottle with cold filtered water → leave 5–6 cm headspace.
- Optional: add tiny pinch baking soda or citric acid for slight mineral/soda-like taste.
- Secure lid tightly → insert CO2 cartridge into charger → screw charger onto siphon head.
- Shake bottle gently 5–10 times to dissolve CO2 → let sit 1–2 minutes.
- Test pressure → release a small burst of gas to check fizz (should be strong but not explosive).
- Chill siphon bottle again 1–2 hours for best carbonation.
- Dispense into glass over ice → use as sparkling water, soda base, or mixer.
- Recharge with new cartridge when needed — fresh homemade soda water on demand.
