Ingredients
- 1 cup Kuromitsu Syrup
- 1 pint Green Tea Ice Cream
- 1 cup Red Bean Paste
- 1 cup Coconut Milk
- 2 tbsp Glutinous Rice Flour
- 1 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Method
- In a small saucepan, combine kuromitsu syrup and water, then bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, until the syrup has thickened slightly.
- In a large bowl, whip the green tea ice cream until smooth, then set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together red bean paste and coconut milk, then set aside.
- To assemble the soup, place a scoop of green tea ice cream in a bowl, then spoon some of the kuromitsu syrup over the top, then add a spoonful of the red bean paste mixture, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and a pinch of salt.
- For a crispy topping, cook some glutinous rice flour in a skillet with a small amount of oil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until golden brown, then sprinkle over the top of the soup.
- To serve, serve the soup immediately and enjoy, garnished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and a drizzle of kuromitsu syrup, if desired.
- To make the kuromitsu syrup, combine sugar and water in a saucepan, then bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, until the syrup has thickened slightly, then stir in some soy sauce and sake, if desired.
