Ingredients
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 cup Beef
- 1/2 cup Onion
- 1/2 cup Carrot
- 1/2 cup Peas
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
Method
- Preheat the oven to 375°F, about 10-15 minutes, then prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of cold butter, and a pinch of salt, then use a pastry blender or your fingertips to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of beef, 1/2 cup of chopped onion, 1/2 cup of chopped carrot, 1/2 cup of peas, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, then mix well.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch, then use a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out circles of dough.
- Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture onto one half of each dough circle, then brush the edges with a little water and fold the other half over to form a triangle or a square shape, pressing the edges together to seal the pie.
- Brush the tops of the pies with a little milk or beaten egg, then place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown, then serve warm and enjoy.
