Ingredients
- 2 cups Gurasa
- 1 cup Honey
- 1 tsp Saffron
- 1 tsp Rosewater
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 cup Ghee
- 4 Eggs
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Water
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour 4 (6-inch) round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together gurasa, honey, saffron, rosewater, cardamom, and cinnamon.
- Add eggs to the bowl and whisk until well combined.
- Add sugar to the bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Add ghee to the bowl and whisk until a smooth batter forms.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cakes are completely cool, use a serrated knife to level them, if necessary.
- Drizzle the cakes with additional honey, if desired.
- Serve the Gurasa Honey Cake with a cup of cardamom-infused coffee or tea.
