Ingredients
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 large Egg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 cup Shredded cheese
Method
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar, and yeast, then add yogurt, egg, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic, then place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F, about 5-7 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 4-6 equal pieces, depending on the desired size of the lángos.
- Roll out each piece into a thin circle, about 1/8 inch thick, then fry in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden-brown and puffed up.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the lángos from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, and shredded cheese, then serve hot and enjoy.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving, this will help the cheese to set.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the crispy and cheesy lángos.
- For an extra crispy lángos, fry for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until golden-brown and puffed up.
