Ingredients
- 2 tsp Berbere
- 1 cup Honey
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Active dry yeast
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 2 Eggs
Method
- Combine warm water and yeast in a large mixing bowl, letting it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add buttermilk, honey, berbere, salt, and eggs to the bowl, stirring to combine.
- Gradually add flour to the bowl, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces.
- Roll out each piece into a thin circle.
- Brush the tops with unsalted butter and sprinkle with additional berbere if desired.
